Shine Awards Young Champions

Flash with RAP chair and rio

Four members of Flash travelled to Birmingham to collect their Shine Young Champion Award at the National Residents Cionference on 18 and 19 of November.

This group of young people received more than one nomination from the residents in their area.

Nominees were impressed with how they had ‘engaged with local influential groups including local businesses, politicians and the police who were impressed with their display and desire to make a difference’ and their ‘passion to ensure the good work continues’

Whilst at the conference the young people had the opportunity to participate in all of the weekends activities alongside board members, senior management and some of Affinity Suttons most involved residents from across the country. Many of whom have invited them to visit  RAP meetings to share why they got involved and to support in getting other young people involved in other areas across the country.

Sue Williams, Chair of the South West RAP said ' I am sure I speak for all of our RAP members when I say congratulations to Flash and would like to tell them just how proud we are of them.'

Well done Alex, Aaron, Caitlin, Dom and Rob
