Killingbeck Tenants win funding for new allotment project

Killingbeck Tenants Group in Leeds have won £12,500 for a new allotment project as part of a Great Outdoors competition run by Affinity Sutton.

The group Chair, Mary Miller and other members entered the competition to bring a disused allotment back into use. As the site is very close to a railway track, Network Rail have agreed to provide fencing to ensure the allotment is safely sectioned off from the track. Once this has been done, work will begin to clear the site and for allotment plots to be created. Numerous tenants have already expressed an interest in having allotment plots.
