Mutual exchange

How to apply
If you want to move to a different sized property or to
a different area outside your borough, you can effectively swap
your home with someone else using the Mutual Exchange
Scheme.
It is open to all Council and housing association tenants who are
part of the Mutual Exchange Scheme. All landlords must agree before
an exchange can go ahead.
How to apply
for a mutual exchange
There are various ways of finding an exchange
partner. We have an internal exchange list which matches types of
properties within our organisation. You can advertise on notice
boards in the areas of your choice or by ‘word of mouth’ with
friends.
Homeswapper is
a free mutual exchange service to all our residents, to sign up to
use it, visit their website.
You can apply for an exchange with anyone
providing they are tenants of a Council or registered social
landlord who are part of the Mutual Exchange Scheme. You will also
need to apply to the landlord of the person you are exchanging
with.
Once you’ve found a mutual exchange partner,
you can contact us to ask for application forms for yourself and
your exchange partner.
