Celebration to mark opening of new facility in Leeds

New £180K games area officially opens in
Leeds
A new £180,000 sports and play park has opened
in the Killingbeck area of Leeds.
The multi-use games area has been built on the
site of an old tennis court on the Killingbeck Estate, in
Leeds.
It includes facilities for football,
cricket, tennis and basketball and is fully fenced.
It also features a toddler play area equipped
with a climbing frame and other play equipment chosen by residents
as well as a landscaped green space for the whole community to
enjoy.
National affordable housing provider, Affinity
Sutton, which has more than 600 homes in Leeds, has invested more
than £80,000 in the project – which aims to really improve the
quality of community life in Killingbeck.

creating opportunities for our communities to thrive and think that

it.”
Mary Miller, Chair of the Killingbeck Tenants
Group, said: “We are delighted that the games area is about to open
after months of hard work. We think it will be a fantastic
facility for the whole community and just shows what can be
achieved when people work together.”

east area committee said: “It is fantastic to see this new
multi use games area completed. The area committee wanted to

community.”

involved with this project for all their hard work. We are
