Our neighbourhood investment team works to improve deprived neighbourhoods and support young people in the community.

Neighbourhood Investment Teams operate regionally with a neighbourhood focus – activities include:

  • capacity building the local third sector
  • local projects with a focus on young people
  • the green agenda
  • estate renewal
  • community safety
  • wellbeing

Latest projects

We are working with residents on a range of exciting green projects including: local kitchen gardens, community allotments, urban orchards, outdoor gyms, conservation initiatives, and natural play areas.

Approximately 5,000 residents across the country have benefited from our national Community Grants Programme since 2010 – that’s 80+ local projects benefitting from over £260,000 of funding;

Our Young Ambassadors programme is designed to help shape and champion youth activity through the recruitment of a team of 16-25 year old residents across the country;

We have creative partnerships with a range of local and national agencies, e.g. Crystal Palace FC, Enthusiasm Trust (Derby), Chichester CDT, Action in Rural Sussex, Community Action Hertsmere, UnLtd, The Prince’s Trust, Street Games, National Citizens’ Service, and Brathey.

We also have 60+ Community facilities and are busy supporting users and improving the infrastructure of the buildings. There are 5 new Community Hubs in Salford; Tyne Dock; Bromley; Plymouth; and Borehamwood – all include refurbished training spaces, kitchens, office space, lobbies and meeting rooms, full Wi-Fi access with a bank of laptops
