Resident scrutiny

We believe we have a responsibility to report to our
residents and to keep them informed about the performance of the
business.
By putting our customers at the heart of our decision making and
being responsive to local priorities, we can ensure we continue to
deliver excellent services across the country.
Our aim is to encourage and foster greater
resident involvement in decision making structures. In particular
we’re keen to ensure that residents have the ability to scrutinise
performance and hold us to account for delivery of our
services.
In the past year more than 700 residents took part in events
designed to shape our services.

To this end we’ve created structures which
allow residents to become involved in their local neighbourhoods,
in specifying and overseeing services in their locality and region,
and at a national level through a newly created National Residents’
Council.
Reaping the rewards of involvement
In April 2011 we started a project reviewing our grounds
maintenance contracts for our North West region. It was a project
that we were keen to involve residents in as well as driving value
for money.
