Employment and training
Tackling worklessness and bridging the gap between
employment and skills is a key target for us. This programme area
concentrates on supporting our residents into work and
training.
We currently run a number of European Social
Fund programmes to support vulnerable residents into sustainable
work:

‘Personal Best’ supports residents to volunteer at the
Olympics

‘Stepping Up’ supports homeless families in temporary
accommodation.

‘Pathways4Cray’ supports residents particularly Gypsy
Travellers in deprived wards in the south east of
Bromley
We also run apprenticeship and work placement programmes and a
number of training courses to support residents to help themselves
including DIY and gardening courses.
We are providing work placements for young
unemployed people as part of the Future Jobs Fund programme and
projects funded by the Working Neighbourhoods Fund.
