Our Green Superheroes: Jeannie and Eddie!

There was some space at the side of Jeannie's building which had not been used for years, so she asked her Neighbourhood Housing Officer if she could plant some bulbs there.

Another resident, Eddie, also noticed, and together they planted some salad and chard then other residents asked to get involved, and the SALAD project was born.

Over the last year the residents have planted potatoes, runner beans, French beans, and some herbs. An old dustbin was turned into a water butt by a resident, and there is now a composter for food waste.  The residents are already planning ahead for next year's growing season!
