2011 Winner: Mohammed Ali from Bethnal Green, London
Mohammed is a great example of someone
getting stuck in to set up a small allotment garden on their estate
in Bethnal Green in London.
He has given much of his time to create and
manage the garden, putting in many hours to prepare the vegetable
patch and fetching and carrying tools and equipment.
His efforts are showing others how hard work
and dedication can make a difference and how it can be fun to grow
your own food. The vegetable garden will also provide educational
opportunities for young children linked to the local library, where
children can learn about growing their own food and experience the
fun in doing so.
