Safe hot water
Safe hot water
Scalding is a rare but serious risk. If you live in a
house which uses an immersion heater, either regularly or
periodically, you should be aware of the signs which may indicate
that water is overheating.
Signs which may indicate that something is
wrong include:
- Excessive noise or “bubbling” from the hot water cylinder
- Excessive hot water coming out of the hot water taps
- Hot water coming out of some cold water taps (e.g. bath, sink)
or toilet.
- Steam/moisture in roof space
If you notice any of the above signs in your
own home, switch the immersion heater OFF, and notify your contractor.
