East Midlands Resident Area Panel
John Hughes from Alvaston, Derby is the East Midlands RAP Chair.
John has Chaired the local Residents Association for many years and
has worked with Affinity Sutton and external agencies to improve
his neighbourhood.
Johns says, “I see my role as RAP Chair is to
ensure that each item we discuss gets a fair hearing, that all
tenants have a chance to have their say. To see that the agenda
covers all areas that the RAP members want to cover and to
represent the RAP at other meetings. We need more tenants getting
involved and attending and taking part in discussion at the RAP
meetings. There are also various other ways of being involved. The
future could be very bright if tenants are prepared to be involved
to make our estates a better place to live”.
