New BMX track for Chelmsford

New BMX Track for Chelmsford

Great Baddow in Chelmsford is going to benefit from a new BMX track later this summer.

Local young people and BMX riders are at the heart of the project and have been involved at every stage, giving their views on the designs and selecting the contractors. They have also pledged to be the eyes and ears of the facility, looking after it and taking responsibility for it.

Well done to all the local people involved, especially the young people, who have worked tirelessly to get this project off the ground. Once it’s built there will be celebratory launch event so watch this space for more information!

Affinity Sutton have part-funded this project through the community grants scheme. Over £60,000 has been raised in total to cover the costs of the new track, fencing and street furniture. Other partners and supporters include Chelmsford Partnership, Chelmsford Housing Partnership, Essex Police, Great Baddow Parish Council and Chelmsford Borough Council, the Youth Opportunities Capital Fund, Chelmer Residents Forum and Active Chelmsford.
