Community Grants Programme

Over £175,000 has been given to projects that benefit our
residents in the first year alone! 61 projects benefited over 5,400
Affinity Sutton residents.
What would you like to see happening in your
area?
Here are just a few examples of the projects that have been
supported:
- Involving young people in positive activities
like the Phoenix Snak Shak who requested funding for a drop-in
centre for young people in Selsey
- Supporting children and their families like
the Burgess Hill Boys' Club who were funded for a support group for
young parents.
- Estate regeneration and environmental
initiatives like Middlesbrough Environment City Trust that
is developing a community food growing area for Affinity Sutton
residents
- Helping health and wellbeing like the Rugby
Tenants Association who are providing sports sessions on the
Admirals Estate.
- Promoting community safety like Friends of
Meadowside that wanted to install a safety fence around play area
which backs onto a road to bring the site into wider use.
- Activities to bring communities together like
the Bethnal Green Tenants and Residents Association who ran summer
activities for children, young people and their families during the
summer with a fete and culminating in a seaside visit.
- Promoting equality and diversity in
communities like the Borehamwood & Elstree Twin Town
Association who ran a Barn Dance with an international flavour for
local residents.
Deadline for applications 13 September 2013.
