Plant a TreeFruit growing in Salford

In April a group of eight adults and twelve children set about creating fruit areas around the Salford Estate. They planted a range of trees, bushes and plants including apples, pears, cherries, blueberries, blackberries, raspberries, strawberries and rhubarb! They planted some in the local children's park so that when it flourishes children can pick and eat it.

They were supported by Affinity Sutton and an organisation called Angel PLC. Angel PLC will come back and help the residents to pick and prune the fruit. They will take residents into the recently installed kitchen in the the local community centre to teach them how to make jams and chutneys. The Angel PLC are also looking at holding trips to a local vale to do some foraging and make other produce.
