Stoke residents get digital!
Following a hugely successful Get Digital project
earlier in the year and the creation of a new computer suite onsite
at William Fiske Court, residents have continued to increase
their IT skills at computer lessions at the
centre.
They have been learning the following:
- Sending emails to friends and family
- Emailing attachments and photos to family and
friends
- Taking photographs and uploading onto the
computer
- Learning to Skype
- Finding out about their local areas
- Learning to Touch Type
- Accessing their family history
- Shopping online
- Searching the Web
This is amazing, considering at the start of
the course the majority of the residents didn’t know how to turn
the computer on.
The computer room is used daily by a number of
residents and they have set up a computer club to ensure
sustainability.
