Improving our services

Resident and staff talking

Service task teams

What are Service Task Teams?

Service Task Teams are groups of residents who are empowered with specialist knowledge of a particular service area of Affinity Sutton to enable them to get involved and influence the way the service is delivered. This could include influencing the decisions made by senior staff, contributing ideas for service improvements, monitoring the performance of our contractors or even being part of the panel which procures (buys) contractor services.

Service Task Teams work on a ‘task and finish’ basis, which means that once you have registered interest and become a member of a particular task team, you will be offered the chance to complete tasks as and when they arise. Tasks could include:

  • Reviewing, improving and approving policies which affect residents
  • Agreeing an annual programme of activities
  • Monitoring performance and making evidence-based recommendations for improvement
  • Designing new services or new ways of delivering existing services
  • Considering customer satisfaction and initiating service based scrutiny or service review

What if I don’t know how to do those things?

We don’t expect you to know all about a particular service right from the word go! All you need is an interest in that area of service. All the training and support you need to really get to know the service area they are interested in will be provided.

How do I get involved?

Get in touch with the resident involvement officer for your area or sign up online. Once registered you will be contacted with training/briefing opportunities and offered tasks as and when they arise – you are free to decline any task offered.

Service Task Teams already established are:

  • Asset Management
  • Anti Social Behaviour
  • Voids and Lettings
  • Green
  • Arrears recovery
