Generally we maintain communal areas and other areas that are not adopted by the local authority and do not form part of your tenancy responsibilities. The services we provide in communal and designated areas vary in each location and should be detailed in your tenancy agreement.
Services can include any of the following: grass cutting, maintenance of trees, shrubs, hedges, rose and flower beds, seasonal work such as removing leaves, litter picking and removal of fly tipping, spraying of hard surfaced areas, removeal of graffiti, cleaning of internal communal areas such as corridors, stairwells, bin chutes, bin stores, lifts, windows, external areas and lights.
Normally these services are funded by service charges which are charged in addition to your rent and could be provided by specialist contractors or caretakers or cleaners who are directly employed by Affinity Sutton.
We expect all residents to respect their neighbours and neighbourhood by not dropping litter, dumping rubbish, or acting in any way that is anti-social.
We try hard to make sure that the place where you live is kept clean and tidy, but vandalism, anti-social behaviour and wear and tear can make this a challenging task. We rely on resident support and co-operation in looking after the place you live in, and ask you to report any problems to us straight away.
