Repairs and looking after your home

Keeping your home well maintained is a key priority and we continually check the work of our contractors to make sure that it’s of the highest quality. Your rent includes payment towards the cost of most repair and maintenance work, but you also have some responsibilities.

IMPORTANT NOTICE – Electrical testing

We’re carrying out electrical testing to a large number of homes to ensure the electrics in your home are safe for you to use, and meet the current standards. This is a health & safety requirement.

If we or our contractor contact you about this it’s important that you let us in to carry out the electrical test – it won’t take long, and it’s for your safety. If we don’t contact you, you don’t need a test at the moment, and you don’t need to do anything further.

Our responsibility

  • Kitchen units, doors, hinges, drawers, handles, latches, shelves, panels, plinths, legs and fixings
  • Worktops including mastic sealant
  • Sinks and taps
  • Waste outlets for washing machine and dishwasher
  • Tumble drier vents 
  • Extractor fans (replacements to be trickle boost fans)
  • Tiling up to 3x courses above worktops and behind appliance spaces
  • Altering the configuration of units to create space for a washing machine
  • Existing ductwork / boxing to conceal pipework following repair

Your responsibility

  • Resident owned applicances
  • White goods including washing machines and dishwashers
  • Boxing to new areas not covered by the repair
  • Sink chains and plugs
