Bromley residents get ‘60 minute makeover’

The 60 minute makeover in Bromley

Two lucky residents from Bromley and Penge have had their homes transformed by ITV’s 60 Minute Makeover team.

Gina Eaves, of Seymour Villas, Penge and Jo Harfield, of Turpington Lane, Bromley were totally unaware their homes had been picked for the makeovers last month – and were overjoyed when they returned home to discover the results.

The show documents a makeover team as they rush to finish a makeover of four rooms in a 60 minute time limit, as a surprise gift to a deserving owner or resident of the house.

Mum-of-two Gina, who has lived in her Affinity Sutton home for around a year with daughter Cydnie, 9, and son George, 5, was nominated by her sisters Samantha and Tara and her friend Sonia.

Tara said:  “Gina is such a giving person and she has been through a lot recently.  We knew she really wanted to have a lovely home for her children but because she works full time she just hasn’t had the time to do it.  I watched the show and then just went online to apply.”

Just down the road twins Sarah and Daniel Harfield, both aged 19, nominated their mum Jo – for the TV treatment by interior designer Jo Hamilton.

Daughter Sarah applied to the show after Jo had a harrowing year. Her brother Michael was tragically involved in a car accident on New Years Eve in which both his wife and young son were killed and Michael was left paralysed from the neck down.  While he will live with his mum, his daughter Lizzie will live with Jo. Jo’s sister also recently passed away.

Sarah said:  “Despite everything that has happened my mum is an incredibly positive person and I cannot wait to see her face when she sees her new look home.”

The show, presented by Catherine Gee, is likely to be aired later this year.
