Got a bright idea: £2000 up for
grabs
The search is on to find budding
young entrepreneurs who want to make a difference to their
neighbourhoods.
Fifteen aspiring business brains, from the Killingbeck and
Selby Road areas of Leeds and the Dick Lane area of Bradford, could
be awarded up to £2000 to bring their ideas to life.
Affordable housing provider Affinity
Sutton, which has around 800 homes in Leeds and Bradford, has
teamed up with UnLtd, the world’s largest provider of support to
social entrepreneurs, to launch its Bright Ideas Challenge.
Whether it is starting a five-a-side
football team, running a recycling project, or launching a website
- the people behind the winning ideas will receive up £2000 of
financial and professional support to help run their own 12 week
project – which will make a positive difference to their
community.
Matthew Parsonage, Head of Neighbourhood
Investment at Affinity Sutton, said: “The Bright Ideas
Challenge is a fantastic opportunity for would-be entrepreneurs
living to really make a difference in their communities and develop
their own business skills with help from our experts. We’ve
all watched shows like The Apprentice and Dragon’s Den and thought
we can do better – so now’s the chance.”
The Bright Ideas Challenge is aimed at
Affinity Sutton residents in Bradford and Leeds, who are aged 16
-25, and are not part of an established organisation. Entries
will be assessed in February.
