Affinity Sutton wins Ealing redevelopment

Affinity Sutton appointed as Ealing’s preferred partner
to regenerate Dean Gardens, West Ealing
After careful evaluation by Ealing Council and
residents, Affinity Sutton has been selected as the preferred
partner to regenerate Ealing’s Dean Gardens Estate in West Ealing,
known locally as Sherwood Close.
Over the coming months and into 2013, Affinity Sutton and the
council will work closely with local residents on developing
detailed design proposals to produce a planning application for the
redevelopment of the estate.
Built in the 1960s the estate currently provides 209 mainly one
and two bedroom flats which are poorly laid out and despite the
close proximity to Ealing Broadway offer few links between the
estate and the wider area.
The new proposals will seek to create a more sustainable
neighbourhood with new affordable and private homes within a well
laid out landscape and with better access and links to the Broadway
and wider community.
Kerry Kyriacou, Affinity Sutton’s Group New Business and
Development Director, said; “We were thrilled to be selected to
redevelop the Dean Gardens Estate. As with many estates of
this era Dean Gardens has simply not stood the test of time and we
look forward to creating a new and sustainable neighbourhood, which
maximises and complements the fantastic links that this location
provides.”
Councillor Hitesh Tailor, Cabinet Member for
Housing, said: “Ealing Council is playing an active role in the
local housing market to deliver more homes - directly and in
partnership, for social rent and other tenures. Affordable
living in decent housing in the heart of Ealing is an important
priority for us. With Affinity Sutton we’re improving the standard
of housing at Deans Gardens, helping strengthen the community and
delivering a more pleasant and safer place to live.” Working with
Affinity Sutton on the regeneration will be architects, Feilden
Clegg Bradley Studios; Employers Agents, EC Harris and property
agents, Knight Frank.
