Your lease

Your lease is the legal contract between you and us that details everything you need to know about the terms and conditions behind purchasing your home.

As a leaseholder you will not own the land surrounding your home or the building that your property is in. Your lease gives you the right to live in your home for a specified period of time. Depending on the length of your lease, this can be anything up to 125 years.

Your solicitor should have given you a copy of your lease when you bought the property and explained to you your rights and responsibilities, as well as our rights and responsibilities. Your lease is an important legal document and may be difficult to understand without the help of a solicitor.

The rights and responsibilities given to you on the lease may be similar to that of other residents but it is always advisable that where you have legal disputes or concerns, that you always check what your lease says.
